Reading Lo: to visualise information from a text

 This week in reading we have been looking at the lyrics for songs. We have read the songs, sung them and then completed a task based on the text. For example we looked at the song Count on me by Bruno Mars and then drew pictures of what one of the verses was describing.

English Lo: to write effective sentences for our persuasive lette

 We are continuing to write a letter today to the felt tip pens to persuade them to come back to our classroom. They have gone on strike due to our mistreatment of them and we are writing to try and persuade them back. Today we were writing the concluding sentences of our letter, including some fantastic words for big, word using the un prefix and describing what they could be doing in the classroom like swirling over brilliant blue skies and cascading over rushing rivers.

The pens are back!

  The pens are back! There were some very excited children today as we have really missed having the felt tips. Unfortunately, the chairs have now decided to go on strike as well so we are having to write a letter to persuade them to stay!
