Now that we have learnt all about the different parts of a vehicle, we have designed our own. Our design had to include wheels, axles and a chassis. Next week we will start making them. 

 We have been learning about contracted words in spelling. Today we had a contraction hunt looking in reading books to find as many contracted words as we could and writing them down. 

 Every week in music we listen to an different piece of music and respond to it. We draw how the music makes us feel and also what instruments we can hear and whether we like it or not. This weeks music was In the hall of the mountain king by Grieg which the children really enjoyed.  Then we had a go at starting to learn to read music. Everyone was given a sheet with the music for a song we had been learning on. The children had to read the notes and write the name of the note underneath. They then had a go at practising playing the song on the recorder. 

 Today in geography we learnt about houses in Mugarameno. We learnt about what they are made of and how they are made. We then compared them to our houses. 

 All year 2 really enjoyed Sports day this morning. They loved having all the parents watch as they moved around the different events. Everyone tried really hard and showed great team spirit cheering each other on.
