English Lo: to look at the features of a persuasive letter

 We had a shock in year 2 this week as our felt tip pens have had enough of how we treat them and have disappeared! We started thinking today about how we could get them back by writing a letter to them. Today we looked at the features of a persuasive letter and the ‘shapes’ that are in it. We had a go at finding the shapes in the letter.

 We are continuing to write a letter today to the felt tip pens to persuade them to come back to our classroom. They have gone on strike due to our mistreatment of them and we are writing to try and persuade them back. Today we were writing the concluding sentences of our letter, including some fantastic words for big, word using the un prefix and describing what they could be doing in the classroom like swirling over brilliant blue skies and cascading over rushing rivers.

  The pens are back! There were some very excited children today as we have really missed having the felt tips. Unfortunately, the chairs have now decided to go on strike as well so we are having to write a letter to persuade them to stay!
